The internet is among over two hundred nominees in the running for this years Nobel Peace Prize. Its nomination has been championed by the Italian version of Wired magazine for helping advance “dialogue, debate and consensus” (BBC news). No doubt it is an odd entry but few can deny the profound impact the medium of the world wide web has made on modern society. Then again, are we mistakenly dignifying the paper upon which the great novel of human expression and enterprise has been written upon?
